Fixing credit report issues is now stress-free ‘cause you can do it sa Lista app!
Your credit report is an important document that plays a crucial role in your financial life, from securing loans to applying for credit cards. If you spot an error — such as a late payment you didn’t make or an account that isn’t yours — it’s essential to dispute it immediately.
Here’s a step-by-step guide for disputing errors in your TransUnion (TU) and CIBI credit report:
TransUnion Credit Report
If you’ve received your TU credit report through the Lista app and noticed an error, follow these steps to dispute it:
Click File a Dispute in your Lista app
Open your Lista app, navigate to your credit report, and tap File a Dispute.
Choose the Type of Dispute
You’ll be taken to a different screen and show you the options:
This is not my data: For incorrect personal information, such as name, address, or contact number. Provide the correct details in this category.
My data is inaccurate: If you select this, you’ll see 2 subcategories:
Personal Information Dispute: For errors in ID details like ID type or number. Input the correct information and reupload a photo of your most recent valid ID.
Account Information Dispute: For inaccuracies like outdated accounts marked as active. Fill in the accurate details and upload supporting documents.
Submit the dispute
Once you’ve reviewed your information, just hit Submit. Lista and TransUnion will coordinate to resolve your issue in no time.
CIBI Credit Report
For errors on your CIBI credit report, the process differs slightly:
Open your Lista app and tap View my full credit report under your CIBI credit score
Scroll down and tap File a Dispute
This will redirect you to your default email app
Describe your dispute in the email body
Clearly describe the issue and make sure to attach the following:
Screenshots of your credit score and full credit report
Any supporting documents, such as billing statements or proof of identity that backs your claim
Send your email
Hit Send. Once CIBI acknowledges your email, they will begin processing and investigating your dispute. If they need more details about you, they will respond to your email to request such information.
Additional Dispute Option for CIBI via CIC*
You also have the option to raise your concerns directly with the Credit Information Corporation (CIC)*:
Visit the CIC dispute page: https://www.creditinfo.gov.ph/dispute/
Follow the step-by-step process outlined on their site: https://www.creditinfo.gov.ph/how-file-dispute
Prepare the following:
A valid 14-digit Transaction Reference Number (TRN)
A soft copy of your credit report (you can use your screenshots of it as seen on your Lista app)
Likewise, once your dispute is filed, CIBI or CIC may contact you for additional details. Processing typically takes a few weeks, so monitor the progress and follow up if necessary.
